Satyananda Yoga

SATYANANDA YOGA as taught in the traditional Satyananda style, offers you a class that includes relaxation, asanas or postures, pranayama or breath practice and either deeper relaxation or meditation suitable for the class participants.  Satyananda yoga seeks to increase our awareness, our intuitive qualities and our capacity to be our full potential and to be of benefit to the greater good of all.

Swami Satyananda who brought together huge range of yoga traditions into a comprehensive multi faceted school of teaching and practices developed yoga in the Satyananda style.

The words yoga means union, satya means truth and ananda means bliss. All practices in the Satyananda style of yoga are designed to assist the mind body complex to function at an optimum level while serving to release the blockages that thwart us from reaching our true potential.

Students attending Satyananda classes or retreats will experience a range of yoga in the class or retreat setting.  Practices you may be aware of such as postures are called asanas, yogic breathing pranayama, relaxation yoga nidra and so on.

More advanced classes will include the opportunity to delve deeper into yogic practices and into yourself simultaneously.

Retreats and workshops offer you an opportunity to explore your mind body and soul at a pace and rate that is uniquely suitable to each person.

Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the valuable inheritance of the present. It  is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow.
