“An ounce of practice is worth tons of theory”, Swami Sivananda.
Three things that are really important about creating our own practice are:
Do the practice, yoga cannot work if we don’t do it.
Secondly create a do-able goal, that is if you can find three minutes a day start with that and choose a practice you like to do that harmonises with you, rather than something you think you ‘should’ do.
Thirdly, practice needs to be consistent, this is whether we practice yoga once a week or once a day. The benefits come from the cumulative effect.
